DOUGLAS FIR VENEER

Pseudotsuga menziesii

 

Common Names:  Douglas-fir veneer is sometimes sold overseas under the trade name “Oregon Pine.”

Source:  Western North America 

Color:  Usually light yellow, but sometimes with light brown or red in it. Usually a narrow band of white sapwood.

Pattern:  Generally sold a vertical or straight grained. Medium to coarse texture.

Characteristics:  Moderately light and hard.

Uses:  Construction, cabinetwork, interiors, decorative plywood and veneer.
