WHITE OAK VENEER - QUARTERED (Quercus spp.)

Common Names: White oak (Quercus alba). Other species which make up the eastern white oak group include: bur oak (Quercus macrocarpa), overcup oak (Quercus lyrata), chinkapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii), swamp chestnut oak (Quercus bicolor), post oak (Quercus stellata).
Source: Eastern USA and SE Canada.
Color: Sapwood whitish to light brown; heartwood rich light brown to dark brown .
Pattern: Straight grained: coarse textured.
Characteristics: Heavy, hard strong.
Uses: Furniture, cabinetwork, tight cooperage, flooring, interiors, decorative veneer.
