Source: Eastern USA and SE Canada. Color: Sapwood whitish to light brown; heartwood rich light brown to dark brown. Pattern: Straight grained: coarse textured. Characteristics: Heavy, hard strong. Uses: Furniture, cabinetwork, tight cooperage, flooring, interiors, decorative veneer.
