QUILTED MAPLE VENEER (Acer macrophyllum)

Other Names: Big Leaf Maple Veneer, Pacific Maple Veneer, Oregon Maple. Source : Western USA and Canada . Color: Ranges through shades of white, tan and light pink. Heartwood in a mature tree is often quite a bit darker. Pattern : The quilted figure is of a pommele or blister type and, wood may have almost a three dimensional appearance. Quilting can vary from a very light to a dark contrast, often mixed with swirl and cluster grades. Characteristics: Hard, strong, heavy . Due to the variations, bundles may be on the small side. Uses: Interiors, Cabinetwork, furniture, decorative veneer, fancy inlays.
