SPANISH CEDAR VENEER

 (Cedrela  Odorata)

Other names: Central American Cedar, Honduras, Brazilian, according to origin.

Source:  Central America, tropical South America.

Color:   Heartwood is pale pinkish-brown when freshly cut, becoming red or dark reddish brown.  Sapwood is pale pinkish-beige.

Pattern:  Straight grained, wavy, curly, mottled.

Characteristics:  Soft, moderately coarse texture.  Gum is sometimes present.

Uses: Cigar humidor interiors, furniture, cabinets, paneling, flooring, boats, clothing chests, doors, cigar boxes, pencils.
